Come And See

KNOW GOD ( Part 2 )

The vast majority of this worlds inhabitants fail to know God the way that one should. In Job it is said of the people, “Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him who does not know God” (Job 18:21). In this second part of this series of articles we want to consider God as the Creator of the world. Again in Romans 1:20-21 Paul wrote, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Throughout time man has had to battle thoughts and arguments against a Creator for this world. Evolution seems to be widely accepted in the minds of those whom God created to glorify Him. It is out of ignorance of the word of God that people fail to learn the truth about the existence of this world. Did God really create everything, you ask? Let us examine the truth in this article.

GOD IS THE CREATOR

Not only does nature teach us that there is indeed a Creator, but the very first phrase of His inspired word as recorded by Moses says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1). If someone lacks respect for the word of God, they are still without excuse in seeing the creation of God around them, including their very being that lives and breaths every day. It is written in Nehemiah 9:6, “You alone are the LORD; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.” Will you worship the Creator of the world?

The psalmist shares his view of God’s creative work in Psalm 8:3-9 in saying, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; you have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen-- even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!” No matter who you are, please understand that it is vain to go through this life without knowing that the God of heaven is the Creator of the world. Qoheleth penned in Ecclesiastes 12:1, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, "I have no pleasure in them"

In our youth and in our old age we must acknowledge God as the ultimate source of life that we might enjoy eternal life when our spirit is returned to Him who made it. The writer went on to say in Ecclesiastes 12:6-7, “Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” When the apostle Paul was encouraging people to serve the one true God, he makes a powerful argument for a Creator and for man to seek Him. In Acts 17:24-28, Paul said, "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. "Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. "And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; "for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' We are all offspring of the God of heaven because He created every one of us. As you sit reading this article and understanding these awesome truths from God’s word it should become apparent to you that no “big bang” or accident made you the way that you are, but rather God formed you with these abilities. It is time for us to place our faith in God. True faith does not require seeing God, only a realization of what He has done through the word of God (Rom. 10:17) In the book of Hebrews, the writer expresses this faith in chapter 11 verse 3, by recording, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

We will one day be judged by the Creator of this world and we need to commit ourselves to Him. Peter by inspiration wrote in 1 Peter 4:17-19, “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?" Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” We should all be able to echo the word recorded by John in Revelation 4:11 which says, "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created." Do you believe in a Creator? Do you know that God made you the way you are, so you would seek Him? Start today!!!
