Come And See

VISION 2006

The Great Commission

Jesus taught in Matthew 28:18-20 the fundamental aspects of His will for the work of the church. The church in Ashland has implemented these simple teachings to the growth and edification of the saints that meet with us, and in all of our evangelistic efforts in the world around us.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, : baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Matthew 28:18-20

1. PROSPECT DISCIPLES

Every person should be taught the truth of the Bible, that they might have the opportunity to become a  disciple of the Lord . This is the responsibility of those who know the truth...(I Timothy 2:2)

“teach all nations…”

2. NEW DISCIPLE

Those desiring to be saved, and become a disciple of Christ must be baptized upon the confession of their faith in Christ and repentance from their sins. This baptism is for the remission of one's sins (Acts 2:38; 8:37; I Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16)

“...baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…”

3. GROWING DISCIPLE

Every new Christian is then taught all that the Lord has commanded, that they might be a faithful disciple (Matthew 24:13; Revelation 2:10)

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you...”

4. TEACHING DISCIPLE

Every Christian, after learning what the Lord has commanded is then encouraged to obey those things. One of which is the command to go and teach all nations the gospel of the Lord.

“Go ye therefore…”

BELOW IS A CHART WE HAVE USED TO ILLUSTRATE OUR MISSION:

EVANGELISM IN THE COMMUNITY

Every week we make it a priority to do something to reach out to the community where we are located that we might fulfill the Lord's command to teach His word. If you live in the Ashland area, we could be visiting you soon. If you would like for us to stop by, give us a call or email us:
